LCD Displays are now affordable in the 17 inch to 19 inch category ($200 to $500 each) and have SXGA (1280x1024) resolution. Higher resolution UXGA (1600x1200) and WUXGA (1920x1200) LCD displays are still in the $2,000 to $4,000 price range, and thus LCD should be used in counter-top rich media deployment while plasma or DLP should be used for digital signage requiring larger viewing areas.
Succulent results can be obtained using LCD Displays if the rich media content is calibrated to the LCD Display technical specifications.
